Our EU election 2014 candidate Liadh Ní Riada was a guest speaker at a United Farmers Association meeting in kilmihil on November 9th 2013. None of the other parties attended despite being invited by the UFA. View photos

We held our convention to select a candidate for the Ireland North EU constituency 2014 in Sligo on 14th July 2013. Because Clare is currently in the constituency, we took part and voted even though we hope to be back in Munster for the elections. View photos

Sinn Féin Summer School 2013

Scoil Shamhraidh Na Saoirse was held in Ballyvourney Co. Cork on June 28th and 29th. It provided an excellent forum for debates around politics, arts, sports, culture, human rights, media and Irish unity. View photos

Plaque unveiling in Ennis

SF erected a plaque in 2003 in memory of vols Patrick Mahony, Christopher Quinn and William O'Shaughnessy at the spot where they died. The three were executed in 1923 by the free state. the plaque had to be removed when the council were carrying out road works in 2012 but we re-erected it when the works were finished and unveiled it on May 19th 2013. Vol. Hugh Hehir commemoration 2013

This year was the 25th anniversary of the death on active service of volunteer Hugh Hehir. His wife and family joined us as always and the main oration was given by Barry McElduff MLA from Tyrone. The music was provided by the Ed O'Brien republican flute band and we had a great turnout. View photos

Sean Treacy Commemoration

The commemoration for IRA legend Sean Treacy took place in Kilfeakle Co Tipperary on the 21st Of October 2012. He died in a shoot-out with British secret service agents who ambushed him in Dublin on 14th October 1920. He killed 2 of them before being shot by a third. A large contingent attended from Clare SF and took these photos. View photos

Student protest at Clare County Council offices

On the 18th of September 2012, students held a protest at the council offices after the council attempted to link the payment of student grants by the council to the payment of the household charge by the students or their parents. CSF were there to support them View photos

2012 National Hunger Strike Commemoration

The 2012 National Commemoration took place in Dungiven Co. Derry, the home town of Vol. Kevin Lynch, the 7th Hunger Striker to die in 1982. A number of us travelled up from Clare and we took these photos. View photos

Reverse the Rent Cap protest at the Dáil 5/7/12

Sinn Féin activists, including a delegation from Clare, protested at the Dáil to demand a reversal of cuts to the limits for rent allowance. these cuts yet again target the vulnerable in society. View photos

Gerry Adams visit to Clare 17th May 2012

On the 17th of May Gerry Adams, Martin Ferris and Trevor O'Clochartaigh came to Clare as part of the "save rural Ireland" campaign which also touched on the austerity treaty. They were interviewed by local media, did walkabouts in Ennis, met various community groups and topped it off with a packed out public meeting that evening. View photos

Stop the Handover campaign

Sinn Féin organised a compaign across the state against the handover of billions of Euros to unsecured bondholders of the former Anglo- Irish bank. in Clare we campaigned in Ennis, Kilrush, Milltown Malbay, Kilfenora, Ennistymon and Shannon in the run up to the final payment at the end of March of €3.1billion. 1981 Hunger Strike remembered

Sinn Fein in Limerick held a public meeting to remember the hunger strike of 1981. speakers at the event included Malachy McCreesh, brother of Raymond, and Danny Morrison, publicity director of SF at the time of the strike. a number of Clare members attended. View photos

National Hunger Strike Commemoration

The 30th anniversary of the 1981 hunger strike was marked with a march and rally in Camlough Co. Armagh, the home of Ray McCreesh, the third hunger striker to die. Sinn Féin support Palestine

Sinn Féin have long been actvie supporters of the struggle of the Palestinian people. In Clare we have organised a number of actions in conjunction with the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, particularily during operation cast lead, the 2010 attack on the Mavi Marmara aid flotilla and in picketing the office of the then Defence Minister, Tony Killeen to protest a planned arms deal with the Israelis. (shortly after the arms contract was awarded to a belgian company) View photos

The 1916 Commemoration this year was held in Drumcliff where the main oration was given by Kerry Cllr. Risteárd O'Fuaráin. a wreath was also laid at the 1916 monument stone in Ennis. View photos

Vol. Hugh Hehir Commemoration 2011

Volunteer Hugh Hehir was died on active service on May 6th 1988. he is the only IRA volunteer to have been killed in Clare in the most recent phase of the struggle. he is commemorated by Sinn Féin every year. View photos

Campaign against water charges

On 16th of July 2011 the party had a day of action against water charges which saw activists hit the streets all over the state. Clare activists leafletted Ennis town at various points. We then carried the campaign to other towns in the county including Kilrush and Shannon, with other areas to follow. View photos
