On the 17th of May Gerry Adams, Martin Ferris and Trevor O'Clochartaigh came to Clare as part of the "save rural Ireland" campaign which also touched on the austerity treaty. They were interviewed by local media, did walkabouts in Ennis, met various community groups and topped it off with a packed out public meeting that evening. View photos
The annual Hugh Hehir commemoration was a great success again this year. Our guest speaker was Malachy McCreesh, brother of Hunger Striker Raymond. He gave a wonderful oration. The march was led by the Vol. Ed O'Brien RFB who came from Wexford to join us. View photos

Sinn Féin organised a compaign across the state against the handover of billions of Euros to unsecured bondholders of the former Anglo- Irish bank. in Clare we campaigned in Ennis, Kilrush, Milltown Malbay, Kilfenora, Ennistymon and Shannon in the run up to the final payment at the end of March of €3.1billion. Sinn Fein in Limerick held a public meeting to remember the hunger strike of 1981. speakers at the event included Malachy McCreesh, brother of Raymond, and Danny Morrison, publicity director of SF at the time of the strike. a number of Clare members attended. View photos
The 30th anniversary of the 1981 hunger strike was marked with a march and rally in Camlough Co. Armagh, the home of Ray McCreesh, the third hunger striker to die. Sinn Féin have long been actvie supporters of the struggle of the Palestinian people. In Clare we have organised a number of actions in conjunction with the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, particularily during operation cast lead, the 2010 attack on the Mavi Marmara aid flotilla and in picketing the office of the then Defence Minister, Tony Killeen to protest a planned arms deal with the Israelis. The 1916 Commemoration this year was held in Drumcliff where the main oration was given by Kerry Cllr. Risteárd O'Fuaráin. a wreath was also laid at the 1916 monument stone in Ennis. View photos

Volunteer Hugh Hehir was died on active service on May 6th 1988. he is the only IRA volunteer to have been killed in Clare in the most recent phase of the struggle. he is commemorated by Sinn Féin every year. View photos
On 16th of July 2011 the party had a day of action against water charges which saw activists hit the streets all over the state. Clare activists leafletted Ennis town at various points. We then carried the campaign to other towns in the county including Kilrush and Shannon, with other areas to follow. View photos
